Hey fellow Bloggers!! Been forever since I have done any writing here. My computer was so old-my son gave me one for Christmas. By that time I was so out of the main- stream and busy with so much other things. My Hubby works sooo many hours-we will create full time when he retires in 5 years or sooner. Retirement-we seem too young for that!!!!! Facebook seems to be the THING now-have lots of family on it. Planning a surprise party for Marshall's 60th b-day this year and a family reunion with it. So far he does not have a clue-but he figures out things pretty easy. Have redone our bedroom this year-all the furnishings-got a new sterns and foster mattress set-luxery-well worth the price. We watch too much HGTV!!! HA!! Sooo this past winter we redid the whole room-so much fun-we love to decorate. Marshall made me all kinds of great furniture in his trusty workshop. He was on a leave with a tear in his knee. It healed up without surgery-a miracle in our book. We found a new church and take our 2 grand-daughters that live near us. We still have 7-no new ones YET!!! My grandkids in Michigan will be here in July for the party. My son Chad has a new business called ASHTON-HAWK they remodel homes-still landscaping also in his business Wood and Water Designs. Nate is building Habitat Homes for people and is in the paper alot. They wll have a new home next year also. My grand-daughter goes to Kindergarten this year.Too searle!!! I have been creating alot of things for ME!! Never had time for that-so I made time. Still love to design-got sooo burned out doing this ALL the time. I had to take a break and focus on other things. Got a huge Album of the family scapbooked. It would take years to do it all -so I picked my favorite pictures. Also did an album of my childhood and kids and grandkids. Lots of money in those albums. Made some awesome journals also. I am getting a new laptop and I am going to try my hand at writing. My son really feels that I can do this and gave me the ideas he felt would be good. I wrote when I was in school. Always thought I would be a writer instead of an artist-time to switch gears. The laptop will be mobile for me-it is hard for me to keep still anymore-I would be better off at Starbucks or something. I turn 54 this year-gee wasn't my mother that age!!!! Time just goes sooo quick. Use it to the fullest. I have wasted years in a struggle to be happy. I figured out I wasn't so miserable after all-it was all the people around me that I let affect me wayyyy too much. You can only love them-pray and let them make the choice for themselves. Me and Marsh are going back to CapeCod this year hopefully in Oct. That is my favorite time of year!!! Well- have things to get done-will try to post some new pictures on here soon.

Just wanted to share a picture of the other furry friend of the house-Bushy cat! She weighs in at about 16lbs. and is sooo gentle. She loves her daddy-my hubby Marsh!! We tease him about her riding in the back of his truck like a dog!!! Her "brother" the escapee- picks on her all the time-she gets the best of him when she gets really mad!! They have been known to be show cats-she demands to be brushed at least twice a day. Check out the websites for this breed!! It is really fun!!!

Thankful Days....

Greetings!! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving... a time with family and friends, a time to remember loved ones not with us any longer. I pulled my Rachel Ray routine and cooked for about 5 hours-trying new recipes and remembering my diet!! I made some great dishes -all desserts I used Splenda. Here is a note-never use the same amount of this sweetener as you do the sugar in a recipe-use half as much or it will be toooo sweet!!! Bushy and Baxter- the cats of the house -smelled turkey all day and got their share- they were thankful too!!! I got to have a ball with my grand-daughters and when they went home about 10:30 I fell in the bed!!! What a great feeling of exhaustion-though- a thankful feeling!!! Now Christmas is coming!!! I love this time of year-I decorate to the extreme-and there really is a mystic hum in the air!! RECIPE: Try this one for all you fruit lovers-find your favorite apple-crisp recipe-substitute the brown-sugar topping for the brown-sugar blend Splenda. Use tart apples -whatever is your favorite and add about four pears cut up to it. Crush up a cup of fresh cranberries in your blender-add a half cup of regular Splenda to that. They are sooo tart you have to sweeten them. Mix together and put your brown sugar topping on top and bake. It will look festive for the holiday coming also and everyone will love it!! Serve it with sugar-free french vanilla ice-cream or low fat cool-whip. Here is a couple of pictures of our home and back deck. I'm ready to start decorating for Christmas!!!

THE GREAT ADVENTURES OF "BABY LOVE"-WHERE IS HE??

We had quite an ordeal over the weekend with Baxterbiter-" alias Baby Love" we call him. For all you animal lovers this LOG is dedicated to you. We woke up Sunday morning after getting to sleep in to about 9:00. It was my grandbabys B-day party so I needed to wrap her gifts. My cats are always in the bed with us-and Baxter always wants to be fed the second you are up-you know what I mean. I thought where is he -he must have found a bird to look at on the deck downstairs. I called him to eat- and Bushy-Love our other cat kept meowing in my face. She comes when you call anyone or anything else. No Baxter!! We knew he was not outside-he is not allowed out at all-but when I went to bed he was on top of the computer- as usual. My hubby and I were getting worried-heck frantic is the word! We went to the basement-he always comes when you call. I had visions of him being stuck somewhere!! I called my younger son Nate- who lives 5 minutes away-and he came over to help his dad. They discovered that he must have went through this hole in the basement wall that is designed to get to the plumbing for the second bathroom. We live in a townhouse. My son said there was a hole that went to the next apartment -a person could only get their arm in it!! The girl next door has not been there in awhile-I thought how would we get him!! Marsh took our ladder on the deck-and climbed over the divider of the townhouses and got on the neighbors deck!!! He called Baxter at the sliding doors and here he come!!! He was in the next apartment!!! Marsh tired the door and it was open. Got the curious george-by that time he was scared and his little heart was pounding!!! He was thinking -this is not my house -where is my cat dish!!! Marsh handed him to our son on the balcony and into the arms of his hysterical owner ME!!!! Of course the HOLE is closed up- no more of that!! I still thanked God-his angels took care of him. He ate and ate and drank and drank!!! You would have thought that he was gone a week!! I hope we do not have to take him to the cat whisperer!!! Bushy could not jump up to the hole because she is too fat-or she would have followed her brother!! God is GOOOOOD!!!

Raining Cats and Logs

What's up world! Just getting this blog set up-I have been on the phone with my gal pal Elaine Thomas -who is walking me through this. She is a grrreat designer and artist. We met working at one of the top design firms in the country that makes home-Decor. We have stayed close friends for years. I will have her links when I learn how to do them -HA!!! My title of this particular writing has a two-fold meaning. Did you say cats-well I have one that is laying on top of my computer. He is so snuggly and warm up there-what will he do when I get my new FLAT screen. He is the family pet- Baxterbiter. He's about 5 years old and rules the school!! We got him as a kitten-he is a Korat by breed-they are more a dog than a cat. He fetchs a ball and growls. He liked to nibble us when he was a baby-now he will put holes in you!! We have him tamed down some-but still have a squirt bottle in every room!! I will post pictures of him when I learn to do that also!! We also have Bushy cat who has earned her name. She is a Main Coon weighing in at about 16 lbs.!! She is the total opposite of her "brother". She is sooo sweet and a lap cat-Baxter wants to be near but do not touch-only on his terms!!! For all you grandmas out there -I will be bragging about my seven grandkids often and share their pics. and funny stories. Now for the Log part-I will be calling my writings my LOGs !!! Hopefully we can become friends and it would be great to have new customers. I also will be sharing some good advice about art Licensing for those of you are interested. I don't know how inspirational I will get -but My personality borders on the emotional-{that is an understatement to say the least} but that is the way passionate people are. Seek passion in everything you do and love. So what if they call you a flake and Type A personality!! If you read the Bible- Jesus was very intense-labeled a nut of his day!!!
